Home / Capabilities / Utility Installation

Built to each utility's standard.

We install underground utilities by system — electric, gas, water and sewer, and fiber — each to the standard the owning utility inspects against. Same crews, same iron, one accountable contractor whether the product is conduit, pipe, or cable.

// Installed by system

One crew. Every utility on the corridor.

Each system has its own product, its own specification, and its own inspector. We install to all of them — the concrete-encased electric getaway, the fused HDPE gas main, the restrained water main, the racked innerduct — with the excavation, boring, and restoration self-performed by the same company. That's the point of a single underground contractor: fewer handoffs on the critical path, and one party accountable for the whole trench.

// Electric

Underground distribution & transmission

Underground distribution and transmission getaways — concrete-encased and direct-bury duct bank, URD, and direct-bury cable on bedded, marked trench. We install and set the manholes, vaults, and transformer and switchgear pads, and support riser and termination work at the getaway. Ducts are mandrel-proofed and roped for the cable crew; energized terminations and splicing stay with the utility's qualified electrical crews.

// Gas

Distribution main & service

Gas main and service installation in HDPE or steel product pipe — open-cut or directionally bored under roads, drives, and rivers. Tracer, warning tape, and depth to the operator's standard. Fusion, tie-ins, and live-main connections are coordinated to the operator's OQ-qualified crews and covered task procedures — we self-perform the trench, the bore, the pipe string, and the restoration around them.

// Water & Sewer

Water main, force main & gravity sewer

Water main, force main, and gravity sanitary and storm sewer — installed to line and grade with thrust restraint at bends, tees, and valves, services and laterals, and structures set on compacted base. We coordinate pressure, leakage, and bacteriological testing plus disinfection and flushing so the system is proven before it's put in service, and bore the crossings that can't be cut open.

// Fiber / Telecom / Broadband

Conduit, pathway & hand-hole networks

Conduit and innerduct, fiber pathway, and hand-hole networks for last-mile and middle-mile builds — including rural broadband — installed by directional bore and open trench. Road-crossing bores, potholing, and continuous pathway with pull tape and locate wire, built for the fiber crew to blow or pull into. We also install conduit and hand-hole runs for 5G backhaul and small-cell pathway.

// Joint build

Electric, gas, and fiber in one trench.

When more than one utility shares a corridor, the cheapest install is the one you dig once. We self-perform joint-utility, shared-trench "joint build" — electric, gas, water, and fiber set at their required separations in a single open trench or coordinated bore, sequenced so each owner's inspection is met without reopening the ground.

One contractor holding the whole trench means the separations, the bedding, and the restoration are one party's responsibility — not a negotiation between three subs after the backfill is in.

// The work in this region

What Central NY and PA are putting in the ground.

The install work across our territory is concentrated in a few programs. We're built to self-perform the underground scope on all of them.

01

Gas main replacement

Block-by-block main replacement — trench, string, and tie in new HDPE or steel main and services, with hydrovac potholing to locate and expose the live system before every connection.

02

Lead service line replacement

Water systems across the region are replacing lead service lines under state and federal mandates. We excavate, bore, and swap services curb-to-meter and restore the surface behind us.

03

Rural broadband buildout

The ConnectALL and BEAD-funded fiber buildout is pushing conduit and hand-hole networks into rural NY and PA — directional boring, road crossings, and potholing at the pace a middle- and last-mile program demands.

04

Electric distribution & getaways

Duct bank, manholes, URD, and riser getaways for distribution and transmission — multi-conduit getaways and shared-trench runs built to the utility's detail.

05

Renewables collection & gen-tie

Medium-voltage collection and gen-tie conduit from inverter pads to the point of interconnection — trenched and bored to the interconnecting utility's standard for solar, wind, and storage.

06

Sewer & force main

Gravity sanitary and storm sewer, force main, and lateral work for municipal systems — installed to grade, tested, and restored, with HDD where the crossing can't be open-cut.

These are the work programs active across our territory — the scopes we self-perform for utilities, their prime contractors, and developers. We serve these buyers; we do not represent any utility or agency as a client.

// FAQ

Installation questions we get from bid teams

Do you make live gas tie-ins yourselves?

We self-perform the trench, the bore, the pipe string, and the restoration. Fusion, live-main tie-ins, and connections are coordinated to the operator's OQ-qualified crews and covered task procedures, so the qualified party makes the connection to the standard the operator requires.

Can you install more than one utility in the same trench?

Yes. We self-perform joint-utility, shared-trench "joint build" — electric, gas, water, and fiber set at required separations in one open trench or coordinated bore, sequenced so each owner's inspection is met without reopening the ground.

Do you handle testing before the system is put in service?

Yes. We coordinate pressure, leakage, and bacteriological testing, disinfection, and flushing on water and sewer, and mandrel-proof electric and telecom duct, so the system is proven before turnover.

Can you self-perform rural fiber and broadband conduit?

Yes. Conduit, innerduct, and hand-hole networks for last-mile and middle-mile builds, including rural broadband — directional boring, road crossings, and potholing, with continuous pathway built for the fiber crew to blow or pull into.
